  • Vedad, Davor,Vedad,Faruk in Sarajevo. Unlikely they would be friends some time ago, this group of friends formed a music group. All the members of this group have a cultural background that differs from the other starting from religious.beliefs; from Catholic, Muslim, Orthodox.

  • On the surface Berlin is a modern city looking to the West whilst reconciling to the past; however beyond the surface, Berlin is pulled in different directions. Still today a fervent movement, mainly in the former East part of the city is resisting to the West and its perceived capitalism. Often this movement is harvested by  squatters  that have occupied premises in the eastern side of the city.

  • Roma in the illegal camp of Zitkovac in the outskirts of Mitrovice.  The camp lies next to the rubbish dump of the town. Roma are unwanted by both the Serbian and the Kosovan side of the town. They survive with some support from humanitarian organisations and by sellin things they found in the skips.

  • Ellinikon was the international airport of Athens, Greece for sixty years up until 2001. In April 2011 the Olympic Airways Museum opened in the West Terminal. The abandoned airport has become a shelter for refugees. According to the Greek government, as of March 2016 4,120 refugees are living in the airport buildings. Many of the children use the ground outside as a play area.

  • Many homes and buildings are not populated because are "abusive", which means they have been illegally built. Many private and construction companies often linked to camorra (local mafia) built homes before a permission was granted in a bid to have a fast track approval once the property was already built. This bad practice has created a large environmental problem because vast amount of land that was meant for conservation has been destroyed.

  • Tashu, 37 years old from Khartoum, has been living in a bureaucratic limbo for months in Greece. I met Tashu at the Sudanese refugee centre in Athens and we have spent hours talking and always looked up at his peaceful inner strength which he confided comes from following the faith of Islam. Tashu has been a victim of beatings, verbal abuse, including 22 days in prison for having stolen some bread out of hunger. "I come from Sudan. I escaped. I really don't feel good about this time in Greece. Attention to suffering - we don't have a place to stay, we cannot work, we sleep on the street. We suffer. How can we build a life?   • Today, Ulfarvatn, a suburb  of Reykjavik is a ghost area. It was meant to become a fashionable inner city residential heaven with up to 4.000 people to build their homes there. Today they are hardly 200 people living in the area in a surrounding that hardly resemble a town. Most homes in fact are unfinished due to the sudden economic collapse of the country. Services such as medical, schooling, transport are non existent. Magnus and his family are among the very few people that managed to move in Ulfarsvatn.

  • A former garage underneath a building serves as an informal mosque in Neos Kosmos. It has been called Al Salam Mosque. The majority that practice the Islam faith are from the refugee and migrant communities and have find it hard to find a place to formally pray so many hidden spaces have been converted into mosques.

Women have been demonstrating against this view from Canada building up in a worldwide movement. Slut Walk demands that women should be able to dress as they please and their dress code should not be a reason for sexual violence. Slut Walk, London, UK.

  • Most of the town hall offices are in various places around the town. After the earthquake of 1981, the historical building that used to hold the town hall was fairly damaged. Money sent from the central government for its reconstruction disappears as soon as it arrives.
