There are so many people in need of medical care that the only way for the boy to be cared is to call an ambulance. So we are going to wait for this evening when we can call an ambulance." • The terminals at the port of Piraeus in Athens were over crowded as more and more refugees in Idomeni were being deterred to continue their journeys forward and slowly were making their way into mainland Greece. Outside the terminals people that could not find a spot inside were looking for any space that could give them some sort of rest. My attention was drawn by a refugee boy, who was in his own world of play on top of a parked truck.

  • The struggle does not end at the Europe' borders. Control imposed on refugees goes beyond the tightened border security. Unwanted and undesirable people are kept in confined areas in what seems to be a politics of containment.

  • Terminal 3 at Piraeus port in Athens is a scene of scores of refugees with little more than a blanket each. This square of material is what each one has to sleep, sit, eat, living on. In the facility there is no water to shower and many families, children, individuals have been in the space for weeks in these conditions.

  • Piraeus port when everywhere humanity was seeking help. I walked into the brick structure. I was not allowed to stay but it was enough to see that there was no daylight coming through. The space that appeared to be a warehouse had no daylight coming in and thus not aired. In the darkness, numerous tents were filling the space.
