Cinzia
Cinzia D'Ambrosi is an independent Photojournalist. She regularly freelances for editorial, reportage
and portrait photography. Her main clients are charities organizations, NGOs and the voluntary sector.
She is a freelance Photographer for UPPA (Universal Press and Pictorial Agency) as well as a regular
contributor to Construction Photography and PYMCA photo library/agencies in London, UK.
Her photojournalist work centers on issues of human rights, refugees and work conditions of the labour
forces in the world. Her long term projects are covering the effects on social conditions of the war
in the Balkans and the conditions of workers, today. Some of the most comprehensive features up to
date are "Widows of War, Kosovo", "Youths in Sarajevo", "Roma in Kosovo and Bosnia", "Serbian Enclave
in Kosovo" ,"Children in Tuzla refugee camps, Bosnia", "Kosovo refugee in London", "Coal Miners in
China", "Italian Workers" and "Karahnjukar Workers".
Cinzia was awarded to document the "Life in Loughborough Estate" in London by the National Lottery,
UK (2005). The outcome of this work, a series of postcards was sent to 40.000 households in
South-West London.
The images of coal miners in China were used by the Justice and Peace Commission of the
Hong Kong Catholic Diocese to campaign on Health and Safety at work in China in various work places,
universities, public bodies and published widely on videos and printed media.
Cinzia's solo exhibition "The Dark Truth: Coal Miners of China" at the Gerduberg Cultural Center in
Reykjavik has been featured in the National TV of Iceland Ruv and featured in interviews at the
National Radio 1.
