Cinzia D’Ambrosi is an independent Photojournalist and Documentary Photographer. Her photojournalist work centers on issues of human rights, minorities and workers’ conditions. Long term projects are the effects of the recent war in the Balkans, Workers conditions and the Roma Gypsy communities in the Balkans. Her main clients are charities organizations, NGO's and the public sector. Cinzia believes in her work to influence decision makers and increasing awareness on human rights and social issues around the world. Because of this she has taken part or initiated various photo campaigns such as Health and Safety at work in China. Her working experience include been a tutor of Documentary Photography at London College of Communication in London (2006), field work in Bosnia Hercegovina for Save the Children, collaborating with Adra Foundation in Bulgaria and Documentary work on the Workers of Karahnjukar commissioned by the National Energy company of Iceland, Landsvirkjun. She also regularly contribute to various press agencies in the UK. Cinzia was awarded to document the "Life in Loughborough Estate" in London by the National Lottery, UK (2005). The outcome of this work, a series of postcards was sent to 40.000 households in South-West London. The images of coal miners in China were used by the Justice and Peace Commission of the Hong Kong Catholic Diocese to campaign on Health and Safety at work in China in various work places, universities, public bodies and published widely on videos and printed media. Cinzia's solo exhibition "The Dark Truth: Coal Miners of China" at the Gerduberg Cultural Center in Reykjavik has been featured in the National TV of Iceland Ruv and featured in interviews at the National Radio 1. Published a guide book on Reykjavik in Iceland, "Reykjavik to Reykjavik" in an informal and documentary style and a Photography book on marginalized communities in Europe "Unwanted in Europe".
